PAN-SEARED BLACK PEPPER BEEF TENDERLOIN

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • Oyster Sauce, 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar, 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame Oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Hot Water, 1 tablespoon
  • Light Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, 4 cloves (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • Beef Tenderloin, 400grams (cut into 1cm cubes)
  • Small Brown Onion, 1 (sliced into eighths)
  • Swiss Brown Mushrooms, 200grams (quartered)
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper, 1 teaspoon
  • Butter, 50 grams

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, prepare the marinade by combining the oyster sauce, sugar and sesame oil, and mix well. Add hot water to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Add the marinade to the beef cubes, mix well and set aside for at least 10 minutes.

Instructions:

  1. Using a 24cm Thermos® KFH-024 Deep Non-Stick Frying Pan, heat light olive oil and stir fry garlic slices until crispy. Drain crispy garlic slices and put both (including garlic-infused oil) aside separately.
  2. With the same frying pan, add 1/2 tablespoon of the garlic-infused oil and heat under medium-high heat until smoking slightly. Add 7 to 8 pieces of marinated beef cubes at a time and pan-sear each cube’s side for at least 1 minute.
  3. After searing, return all seared beef cubes into the same frying pan. Add onion slices, mushrooms and butter, and stir fry for about 2 minutes until the butter melts. Add freshly ground black pepper and mix well.
  4. Before serving, add garlic crisps and enjoy!

Notes:

  • This recipe is based on using a Thermos® KFH-024 Deep Non-Stick Frying Pan.
  • When searing the marinated beef cubes, please set aside the cooked beef cubes before searing the next round. If the garlic infused oil runs out, you may use light olive oil to replace.
