3. Sweet Corn and Chicken Soup

Compared to cream-based soups, which are high in fat and calories, broth-based ones are lower in energy density, translating to fewer calories per gram. Contrary to common beliefs, sweet corn is not as fattening and sugary as you think. An ear of corn has the same number of calories as an apple  but lesser sugar content. Furthermore, cooked corn increases antioxidant activity that helps protect our body. Couple that with chicken breast meat and you will get a nutritious soup with lots of protein!

Longan fruit is rich in vitamin C and gives a relaxing effect, lowering irritability and reducing fatigue; wolfberry helps control diabetes and lower your cholesterol level. Combine both and you will feel rejuvenated after a hearty meal. Alternatively, check out these five no-bake desserts to finish off your meal.
