MOTHERS DAY SPECIAL MOM FLOWERS

5 LITTLE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR MUM HAPPY

Being a mum is a full-time job – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Even when we become adults ourselves, we still rely on our mums for advice and life lessons (because we never grow up in our mother’s eyes). The good thing is, we can now give back a little, make our mum happy, and put a smile on her face. It need not be something majestic, little gestures can make a huge difference. Here are five little things you can do to brighten up her day (and not just for Mother’s Day).

1. Send your mum a handwritten note

If you cannot be with your mum in person as much as you would love to, then send her a handwritten note. There is nothing more heartwarming than receiving a thoughtful note from her child. Avoid sending emails; your mum grew up in an era without the internet so try the conventional way of sending letters/notes through normal mail, simply because it is more sentimental and nostalgic this way. You could even decorate the letter with personalised designs.

2. Go for a photoshoot together

One great way to bond is to arrange for a photoshoot with your mum. Doll her up (because which woman doesn’t enjoy that?), hire a professional photographer or a friend who’s good at taking photos, and capture some precious memories through the viewfinder. One trick is to print out the best photos, frame it up and display it at home. Imagine your mum’s smile every time she sees it!

3. Send your mum some of her favourite flowers

Because why not? Do not wait for a special occasion to do so; send her flowers every now and then. It is one way to tell her that you’re thinking of her and want to brighten up her day with this little gesture. Most mums would ask their children not to waste money on these things, but deep in their hearts, they appreciate it more than you think.

4. Cook a meal with your mum

Sparing a few hours every week in the kitchen with your mum will not only help improve your relationship with her, it will also keep her company. Make her favourite Papaya Pork Ribs Soup, cook up a hot pot of Curry Chicken, or prepare Bubur Hitam Black Glutinous Rice Dessert from scratch. Get a Thermos® Shuttle Chef® to help you make cooking more convenient and time-saving, especially with its 5mm reinforced case that prevents your food from over-burning. Trust us, you’ll thank us later.

5. Just be there for her

Your presence means a lot to her. What most mums appreciate is the opportunity to be with their children, which is something money cannot buy. Spending time with her is one way to show your gratitude for all the things she has done. Treat her like a queen (because she deserves it), and if you really cannot do so in person, a simple phone call would suffice, because nobody is too busy for their mums, really.
